V茅ronique's journey as a conservation scientist started on the tropical paradise island, Mauritius in the Indian Ocean. After completing a B.S. in Biology with a focus on Ecology, she worked as a wildlife biologist for 3 years leading the successful translocation of Terpsiphone desolata the Mauritius Paradise Flycatcher. In addition, she also worked on the monitoring of a wide variety of critically endangered species with extensive collaborations across teams on the conservation efforts of passerine, raptors, amphibians, and plants in Mauritius, Seychelles, and the United States. She also worked in Seychelles Islands on the control and eradication of invasive species in a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In 2018, she relocated to the United States as a Fulbright scholar to complete an M.S. in Biodiversity, Conservation, and Policy at the University at Albany. She also worked for a year as a Geospatial Information System (GIS) and Technology Fellow with 探花精选鈥檚 Enterprise GIS team.
