探花精选 Americas Migration from Theory to Practice

Looking back at the last two years of impressive and ambitious accomplishments of 探花精选 Americas.

In 2021, 探花精选 shared an ambitious Business Plan for what was then known as the International Alliances Program. Two years after, we know the challenges and joys that migrating to new territories bring. This report is proof of an inspiring transformation that elevates our work as a 听hemispherical organization, and encompasses our new name: 探花精选 Americas.

Working on bird conservation听makes you understand the meaning听of a common saying: Time听flies! Two years ago, in June 2021, we shared听. I now notice听how many 鈥渨e will鈥 the text has. It shows our听optimistic and constructive approach and听the 探花精选鈥檚 (NAS) determination听to grow its presence and elevate the听conservation impact and climate response听across the hemisphere. At that point, we were听not fully aware of the incredible journey we听were embarking on, just as challenging and听inspirational as the ones thousands of birds do听yearly across the flyways of the Americas.

Putting together has听meant understanding what impact means听beyond numbers and milestones and better听thinking about the people, partners, and听teammates who have helped, shared their
knowledge, and invested resources and听time to help us grow. Connecting, building a听bird-friendly community across the Americas,听and bringing new perspectives into our听work has also impacted 探花精选.

The year 2022 marks, so to speak, a new听ground for gaining greater relevance in the听Americas as we project 探花精选鈥檚 strategies听across the hemisphere, adapting or creating听new ways of implementing them, keeping in mind the local context, and thinking of听, from the Boreal forests to the听coasts of Chile.

Science and on-the-ground experience have听been fundamental in understanding the听hemispherical conservation shortfalls, which听have become our building blocks and a world听of opportunities for 探花精选. Working closely听with international partners like BirdLife,听American Bird Conservancy, and RedLAC,听among others, and building together initiatives听that have an accountable impact across the听region has been a genuine shift in the way we听connect people, resources, and funding for the听benefit of a more significant and urgent goal:听climate change response and the conservation听of birds and the places they live in. Working听with multilateral banks like IDB and CAF has听opened new agendas, scenarios, and alliances.

is just a tiny part of the bigger听picture 探花精选 Americas is working on. For听me, it is not a rearview mirror of the fantastic听work the team has done but a vast and clear听horizon for connecting birds and people across the hemisphere.
